What to Expect on Your First Visit

The most important service we can offer you is a diagnosis. It is necessary that we know what is normal and abnormal in your mouth, but it is far more important that we know why it is the way it is. Through a careful study of our examination findings, diagnostic models and X-rays, and by correlating this information with your past dental and medical history, we can more accurately predict the future.

The initial appointment will be spent conducting a thorough examination. It includes visual examination of the oral tissues and teeth, X-rays as required, a health history, and possibly, impressions for diagnostic study models of the teeth and photographs.

All the visual, clinical and X-ray information is assembled and a diagnosis is made. This includes actual findings, what benefits you can expect from the suggested treatment, and various approaches to treatment.

In some cases, a second appointment may be needed for consultation, to thoroughly explain and discuss your individual treatment requirements. Your complete understanding can be a reality only if you know all the facts. Always take time to ask questions, no matter how insignificant you may think they are.

Once we have decided upon the method of treatment, we will arrange your appointments so that your dentistry can be completed as efficiently and as quickly as possible to save you the inconvenience of numerous, short time-wasting and non-productive trips to the office.
